Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a Fender Starcaster Strat Pack from Best Buy. Its a beautiful beginner guitar and the price was right.

There is a problem with the alignment of the knobs. I noticed that the lower Tone knob is not aligned with the other Tone and Volume knobs. When the knobs are turned counter-clockwise until they stop, the Volume knob and the 1st Tone knob stop at the number "1" (while holding the guitar and looking down at the knobs). However, the 2nd Tone knob stops just past the number "6". I'm assuming that the 2nd Tone knob was installed incorrectly when the guitar was assembled at the factory.

How can I correct this problem? The knobs don't come off easily and I don't want to break it. I am confused by this as I would assume that the knobs only fit one way. If they only fit one way can this knob alignment be corrected by simply removing and resetting the knob or is it a problem with the assembly.

I just got the guitar and haven't even taken the pick guard plastic off in case it needs to be returned because of this problem.

hi crankster and welcome to the forum , your problem is an easy fix , get 2 teaspoons and sit them under the offending knob and lever it off , then line it up to what you want and puch it back on (make sure the knobs are turned all the way up or down when puting it back on ) hth , cheers
