also the body I've seen from that year, the paint in the routing matched the paint on the body, so yours might of been orginally black.

I think it was black as when I took the back plate off of the body it is black inside of there. Also noticed that it is a 2 piece body. So that would make it USA I think. I just put a new set of 9's on it and it plays sweet. I think I did allright for 550.00.
