I just got back from purchasing what was sold to me as a 2002 Fiesta Red American Standard Strat. After searching for some info on this, I can't find an American Standard strat in Fiesta Red. Its in great shape and plays nice, It has a maple neck with a darker tinted fretboard. The knobs and pickup covers and tip is a more vintage cream color than the white pickguard. 11 hole pickguard, bent tree on headstock. Any info would be appreciated. The serial number is z0283879 if that helps. I paid 550 with a case. Hope I did ok

Try here for pics:

Well the neck looks like a real american standard neck, the body doesn't though. Hard to see in the pic but it looks like a 6 hole vintage style trem, an american standard would have a 2 point pivot type trem.

Guitar looks pretty nice though.

Someone replaced the 2-point bridge with a 6-screw vintage type.

Surely it's a Factory Special Run or something else like this..

How do you know it was the bridge replaced? and not the whole body? I would like to see better pics.

From what I have seen in Fiesta Red online the body on this looks like the classic 50 model. But they came with 8 hole pickguards from what I have read. Mine has 11. Another thing that got my attention was it did not come with an original case. I asked him about it not having the original case he told me that he owned for about a yr and had bought it like this.

I just added some more pics :

I think it's a partscaster guitar since the bridge is not original.

But the neck has a nice early '50s vibe with its vintage tint - very cool. 8)

Yeah I don't think the body and neck went together originally. Can't really tell what the body is from the pics. You need to find out if the bridge is an american vintage bridge or like a Mexican standard bridge.

Also if you took the pickguard off and took pics of the body it would help identify it.

also the strap buttons aren't what come on an american standard.

Measure it from e to e string. American is like 2 7/32" and the mexican standard is 2 1/16" I think.

Also the mexican saddles are more narrow than the american.

I called Fender and was told the neck is American Standard made in Feb of 91. He told me it came off of a black american standard body. So I guess someone has switched bodies on this. Be nice to know what the rest of it is. I guess you need to know your strats before you assume the other person is right. Hope it is worth what I paid for it. Heck it plays nice and feels good, no humming and doesn't sound to bad. I just pulled the pickguard off and here are some new pics:

Well, the routing and barcode does look like an american standard from that year, but it should be a 2 point pivot trem. Look around the bridge area and see if you can tell if it originally had a 2 point system that was plugged or something?

Maybe it was plugged and refinished. Not sure.

I smoke and I keep smelling a slight hint of paint. Got my nephew to give it a whiff and he says yep it smells like paint. So guess it has been refinished. Put it back together and tuned it and plugged it in and now its humming. Goodness gracious what next. I guess it don't pay to be to nosey.

When I took it apart I noticed where a lead coming from the input jack was spliced and soldered and left bare. If that was touching one of the pots would it cause it to hum ?

Well it's a nice guitar either way. Still interested to know the string spacing on the bridge if you feel like measuring it sometime. Like I said the MIM Bridge is a 2 1/6", but I think the American standard is also a 2 1/6" originally.
