They're great! A lot less noise and more mid-range sustain than the stock single coils. While many choose one model/style of Lace Sensor, I have three different models installed, see next image.

this is my 85 $@! strat. it has a sd 1/4" pounder in the neck, a gold lace sensor in mid, and a sd pearly gates in the bride. has a coil tap switch. push pull voulume pot, if the voulume is pulled the front pickup comes on no matter what, if down the guitar acts as normal, if the tone pot is pulled it puts the neck pu out of phase with the rest of the pu's. got some gret tonal opritons on this guitar!! This is the only strat i will ever own, unless Jimmie Vaughan gives me SRV's #1 HAHA

I wanted a Maple necked hardtail. I was originally gonna put a 56 feeling baseball bat on this. But the JW Black Limited Edition Mexi slab one just KILLS! I had a 62 once and I don't remember the neck being as comfortable as this one! Even has a touch of Birdseye so it fits right in!

I was wondering, last month I posted a picture of just my hand on the bpdy of my Strat and teh post is still there but the picture is gone. WAs I not supposed to post a photo showing a body part even if it's just a hand? Just wondering,

The gold Lace Sensors were stock equipment on the Strat Plus guitars. Your blue, silver, red, mix were available on some versions of that model.
I believe that the Ultra was fitted with blue, gold, and red.

When they did the Clapton, gold Lace Sensors were supplied. I also agree that they had more 'meat' than the new "Noiseless" pickups.

I also had a '93 Tele Plus with a blue Lace in the neck position, and a red Dual-Lace at the bridge. THAT guitar was a stormer. Unfortunately, unlike Alain LaFrance, whose collection we marvel at, I have limits to what I can keep around and am obliged to trade up for things. So the Tele went for the Clapton. I prefer Strats, but that Tele was special. I hope the current owner feels the same.

wolf --- so, you can't figure out why anybody would take off their backplate, order a "weird" (sic) colored guitar, block their trem or tint their neck.

Four posts, and every one closes with a snarky dismissal of everybody who isn't you.

Glad you could make it.
