I had an Ash Deluxe before I sold it to get my EJ. It was a great guitar, nice bright tone. You're right, that neck was wonderful. Dollar for Dollar I think it's Fender's best value.

Some time in distant future she's going to get new tuners.

This is my Fender Acoustic I bought back in the early 90's or late 80's. It doesn't have a model name on it. Not quite sure what it is.

Hey notz

good to see another ash body deluxe owner around here.

I bought the Tobacco burst model back in 04..... I was going to hold off but all the deluxes from that year came with a 50th anni neck plate. meh I'm a sucker for anniversary stuff

Did you get to play any standards before you bought yours. I did and I couldnt believe the difference in the necks. These necks sre SOOOOOOO nice to play.

Hey JP, thanks for the hello.

Ya I know what you mean about being a sucker for things like that. I'm pretty much the same.

What a beautiful guitar you have! Gorgeous woodgrain.

Yes, not only did I try the Standards, but a VG as well. Even brought the VG home for a week, but returned it in favor of the one in the pic.

This is the nicest Strat neck I've played, & I've played many strats. The thing just sings with sustain w/o plugging it in. A bud who has an authentic 56' Strat even favors this one. Although neither of us dislike those old V necks in any way.

I will no doubt some day replace the pups, as even though they're very very nice, & totally noiseless, it's at a price my old ears can hear.

The "extreme ends of pup tone" that make them whole still reside in the realm of the old noisy pups (missing from noiseless pups-as if the edge of their tonal spectrum is EQ'd out to make them noiseless), & that's what I'm after, ultimately. I may even get another deluxe ash to do this with (only $1,300), & leave this baby alone ('cept for the pickguard).

Have you already posted pics of the front of your guitar in this thread? What page? If not, please do, as I'd like to see the front.

c ya

Thanks. She is sounding very nice, bridge pu is hotter than others, so I didn't have to change it (I got humbucker on bridge pu on my every other guitar). Actually that pu is so hot, that I don't have to mess with amp when I change guitar. She's sounding tough enough even when I play hardcorepunk gigs

Only problem is those tuners  Someday I'll replace them with Sperzel or Schaller.

Far out man, dig the taxi cab yellow! Makes me crave a burnt orange shag carpet and avacado green kitchen appliances.

Everyone's collections are so amazing, I'm almost ashamed to put my one Mexican Strat up...but I will anyway because I love it. And sealoblues1, WOW! Can I have one of those? Please? hehe. And sorry that in my picture you can't see much of the guitar, maybe I'll put another one up with more of the guitar, but on this computer that's pretty much all I have. Enjoy!
