Here's mine. 1993 American Standard. Bought new in '93 with original sunburst finish. Paint stripped sometime in '96 I think. Road worn by me and man, what a player and great sounding guitar. Here she is posing with a newly acquired '93 tweed Pro Junior. A match made in heaven. :D

This guitar has one of its two EasyGlider string guides removed.

Bridge had been upgraded with Graphtech saddles.

Yes it has one string guide removed and upgraded saddles. Good eye. I still have the original saddles and string guide. I was going to set up the bridge for tremolo use but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Your axe does have the TBX tone circuit for the middle/bridge pickups.

Fender made the switch to the Delta-Tone pickup system in 1997.

Beautiful natural finish. :P

Unusual for an alder-bodied Strat. :?

In your place I'd buy an original American Strat with a snappy natural ash body.

Two cans of right guard, a pack of Marl reds, and a sick Lookin black strat! You are either on tour or have locked yourself in an office cubicle until the SRV comes out that guit! lol! Good Lookin ride brother.

Your kids never age! Surely they have graduated to real Fenders by now! And hired a bassist and drummer. 8)

They're a couple years older now but no bass player or drummer, daughter has picked up playing a sax though.

Thanks, guys! I gotta say that even though it was hot rodded to get those metal tones, when i switch to the clean channel on my Peaveys, I still get a bit of a Strat tone when i roll back the tone knob and there is much rejoicing! Btw, Jason, that was shot in my bathroom in my apartment! I know it sounds crazy and weird but i usually practice/record in the bathroom because of the good natural acoustics in here (even though I record directly to the MacBook) and it just sounds good. Plus, it's relatively soundproof in here so I can turn it up without getting some wiseass pounding on the walls. And it's the only place indoors I can smoke, too.

Now that's what I'm talkin about! I sang in a quartet for years and we always practiced in the bathrooms in high school. Amazing acoustics for sure. Cheers!

Someone on CL sent this picture to me as a trade offer. I thought it was unique enough to add. It is a MIM Standard/Std. Appears to be a 6-piece body. I don't know what year.

"I have a unique MIM Strat I'd like to trade for your... The body was sanded down and the sides were painted black then stained to bring out the grain of the wood."

The body was obviously been stripped down to natural and stained off.
