The sunburst strat is a 2006 Pre-Upgraded Highway 1 w/ Texas Specials
(If anyone could tell me the main differences between this and the new version I would love to know... besides the headstock obvioulsy)

Yisrael42
The Upgraded Highway besides the oversized headstock, now have a Alnico 3 mag pickups, so they are a little hotter then the texas spcials, have a deeper grittier tone, the middle one is also reverse wound so you have hum canceling in 2 switching positions, and the the last difference is the Grease Bucket Circuit that boost the highs so you don't loose that strat bite with the because of the deeper sounding pickups.

I just got a Upgraded Highway one a few weeks ago, love it...Also own a older highway one tele, Some of the best guitars Fender has put out...IMO

I am told this color is no longer available in the RI 60s strat... can anyone confirm? Is this guitar collectible?

Thanks,

My strat (&tele (it's name is Fidel-telelcastro)

Image

It's just an '01 MIM, nothing too special, perfect piece to go with my usual debauchery. The pile of parts in the middle is for the strat. I traded with my dad my jackson for his strat. it will be getting those two pickups, (DiMarzio Super Distortion and Super 2) as well as the other one that I just got a phone call about that it's in (DiMarzio HS-2). Each one is going on a on/on/on DpDt minitoggle for series/coilsplit/parallel operation. With the 5-way in there, provides 27 different pick-up combinations.

oh, and my dad wanted me to toss in his stratocoustic. I love it, i think it's the best acoustic ever, sounds like a dred and plays like a strat.

And one more of the rest of our collection.(the two on there that are facing the otherway are my fiancee's)

Oh wow...there are some mighty fine looking Strats out there. Thought I'd share a couple of the baby I used to own. Regrettably I never thought to take any closeups of her when I owned her, and even these 2 are all that I have (plus the fond memories of tickling her bird's eye maple fingerboard).
If memory serves...she was 1968 vintage...apparently one in 200 were made without the whammiebar (Buddy Holly Series??????). Was made up of a conglomerate of parts from pre and post-CBS.
Man...do I miss her.
OK...someone help me out here...how the heck do I post a picture...heh heh heh.[/img]

Are you going to buy the new Crossroads model?

No, it has nothing special aesthetically. Blackie was a piece of history and plays like a dream, but this one, no, no GAS and the amp is in 110V :?
No Gas either for the EVH Frankenstrat.
I'm of the opinion that the Andy Summers Tribute Tele is much more worth investing in. So it was my choice.

Alain,
We miss you over at the FDP.......but I understand why you left!

Thanks for posting your photos again, they are FAB!

It is an addiction....=)

Sealo...

You have a collection of Strats like that next to a POOL TABLE??? Obviously, you're a better pool player than me...because nothing is safe within a 15 foot radius! Aren't musicians supposed to be crappy pool players, dart throwers and dancers cause that's what everyone else does while we're playing music? Take Care.
