Hi all!

So, unfortunately, I have no new guitars to post pics of since my last contribution. However, I have recently photographed my two ladies after doing some major mods to my Squier, so I thought I would post a few. Also, first time posting pics since I purchased my Blues Jr.

I regret not taking progress photo’s of the mod work I did to Gladys. It was pretty involved and fun. It was very much a learning process, though, and I got so into the work that I didn’t think about pulling the camera out until I was tuning her up. For kicks, here is what I did to her:

- replaced the stock tuners with vintage style machines.
- treated the frets with 000 steel wool to smooth them
- replaced the one-ply white pick guard with the three-ply w/b/w one
- new Fender 5-way switch (the size of this switch compared to the one that came in the Squier requires some cavity Dremeling)
- all new pots – the Squier came with 50K pots (my guess is to compensate for to poor stock pickups) so I dropped down in the Stratocaster standard 25K pots
- replaced the stock pickups with Fender Tex-Mex pickups
- complete shield of the cavities under the pick guard
- I hand painted a silver inline to the Squier logo on the headstock – merely for looks and a little style…

I have a couple more things I would like to do including replacing the tremolo and the plastic nut – but she’s a solid player!

Cheers!

Sounds like a fun project, I just (finally) picked up a set of texas specials, lefty-'F' tuners, and a tortoise 'voodoo' guard for my white mexican 60's reverse strat. If I ever get around to wiring everything I'll toss up some pics.

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: '57's don't have rosewood fretboards, I believe that the picture shows one of his 60's roadworn strats.

Good eye, I can't say I'm too fond of the roadworn series, but I certainly would never begrudge anyone playing one.

The edge of that headstock looks gnawed on!

Reminds me of my pencils when I was a kid. :)

I'm just giving you a hard time. It looks kinda cool. 8)

It does look kinda cool. It looks like a used Strat's headstock!
With the added benefit of a new guitar warranty!

(Like I ever made use of a guitar's warranty, NOT!)

I picked this up yesterday. Traded an Ovation for it.
It's a 2000 American Standard.

You are CORRECT!! It's a pic of my 60s three tone sunburst road worn. That one has better relicing than the olympic white. Better by definition of more attention to details on the relic job. For example, the screws on the sunburts road worn are rusted on some areas, but the olympic white have new looking screws. I will post pics showing the relic detailing differences soon on another thread.
