Hey FreedomStain,

Is that the antigua burst finish ? And what kind of electronic setup did you have done with those chrome domes and switch? I'm curious to know what makes it a 1969NOS if thats not a 69 finish or electronic setup ? the scale of the neck and the specs of the body ?

Cheers,
JackSteel

Here she is... Hardtail Big Apple from 01. Might be called something else, but you get the point of it. Ash body, Duncan '59 and Pearly gates Plus pickups, five way switch... I can't put the thing down!

These are actually the pics from the ebay listing I bought it from, but they really don't do the guitar justice. I bought this guitar to use as a backup for my American Hardtail Strat HH and now it's become my main Axe. I have an Alder Big Apple with the American Standard trem, but the combo of the ash body and hardtail bridge really set this one apart. Now I just have to find another one!

simply sweet! i like the fender ping tuners there easy to tune
and most important they stay in tune very well much better
than the fender vintage tuners.

It is a one off Strat and a one of a kind color. Fessler nicknamed it BlizzardBurst/ SnowBurst because it is Arctic White in the middle and Blizzard Pearl Metallic on the outer rim. Antigua burst can be seen at any angle and is very rustic looking.

The electronics are Custom Shop '69 pickups on the neck and mid position and a Seymour Duncan JB Trembucker on the bridge. There is nothing special going on underneath the chrome knobs and the switch is a kill-switch.

My COA says 69 and I'm sticking to it! Fender classified it as a '69 because of the headstock, the neck profile, and the two pickups. The base model was a 69 and then my modifications transformed it- modern radius, custom color, custom controls, slightly different pickup configuration, ebony neck, etc.

I've had my new monster for a few days now so I decided to unveil it on this rather than start a new thread. So for your viewing pleasure I'd like to introduce my new 1969 NOS Strat Masterbuilt by Greg Fessler.

The guitar is very deceptive when you look at it head-on because as soon as the viewing angle changes, you see its true colors.

Hey Freedom,

just curious, did Greg add those knobs and all those unique mods per your request or did you do that yourself? thanks.

I asked Greg what he thought about putting those knobs on and he thought it was a good idea, so we did it. The pickup configuration and the kill switch was completely my idea. I had very detailed specs for just about everything on the guitar.

Greg's contributions were superb wood selection, choosing Arctic White as the whitest white, providing his own very specific instructions to the painter regarding the burst size, using a flat mini switch for the killswitch, and leaving the headstock untinted. Of course I don't have to mention he put it all into one amazing instrument.

Freedom, that new munster is GORGEOUS.

At the joint it almost looks like he painted the back of the neck?

John English 1993 ebony fingerboard, abalone tuners, hard tail, John Suhr pups, one of a kind

I found this picture to be quite inspirational. It was my favorite of all of Alain's posted pics.

So, here are a couple of pictures of my current project.

It's a Warmouth Lacewood body, dyed green with a thin skin satin finish. It was one of their "Screamin Deals", and I couldn't pass it up.
The pickups are an EMG Gilmour set. The bridge is a blocked Fender Vintage. The neck is temporary - it's the old rosewood neck from my Lonestar ( which now has a Maple American Standard neck ). When I can swing it, it's going to get a AAA flame maple and ebony neck with the Clapton contour and compound radius fretboard from Warmouth.

Yeah...I'm really happy with the way the lacewwod sounds...It reminds me a lot of swamp ash. It's the lightest of my three guitars, but it has a great tone...it really makes those Gilmours chime.

Not to mention that it looks like it was upholstered in alien skin....
