those squire series are awesome Ive seen yours very nice its self. mines got quite the story behind it when i was buying my 72 bassman head i looked up and saw her she was stock i looked at the price it was $125 the neck felt so good nice and chunky so i grabbed it up. i thought about switching pups but the stock one are very hot so i left them. well one night at a gig i was having a bad night ran in to a guy i didn't want to see and almost got in a fight and on top of that the bass player was being a pain. so at the end of the night i dropped her and she landed on my pedals and split in to 3 pieces ouch. so i pondered for awhile whether to by another body or have it fixed i figured i owed it to her to fix her so while my tech was fixing the body i had him install a lefty bridge because i like the whammy up top he did a stand up job. and for some reason i play little wing better on that old beat and broken mim than any of my other stats
by the way nick Ive heard you say that those bodies and necks are made in usa is that true i wouldn't be surprised that neck is sweet

We're given to understand that they are cut here and sent south for the rest.

Now you cant take my word as law on this. My therories are mixed at best.

At the time of production 92-98 fender mexico weren't making necks. They could only come from one place. Shipping them from the far east would just be too expensive. Against this you have the fact that some of the squire series came from Korea some from Japan. The first incarnation of the mexico plant was producing squire guitars. They may well be leftover squire parts labeled fender because of their builders.

Saying that my findings on mine and my friends squire series tele lend towards Fender body and neck making. The body of mine is bigger than a typical squire and the neck whilst deeper front to back is narrower E-E. Most squires i've played were thin and wide.

My personal belief is that they are USA castoff's. I cant prove it though.

Sometimes their seconds become firsts. A careful shopper can do well. It takes a great deal of self control to walk away from the wall.
