VERY interesting model. I concider myself an expert of sorts on the Strat Plus series, but never in my research have I come across a hardtail. did you add the Lace Sensors yourself?

not a plus from what I understand - serial N8342903 - so I assume the pickups were added. Bought it on eBay, and in the original case was the original (non-roller) nut that they replaced with the graphite. Also, the bridge pickup is blue, and I think the pluses were all gold, right?

I am a 23-year old dreaming of becoming a guitar player...not the next star mind you...just something to do in my spare hours. I don't yet have a guitar but I am looking into getting a Fender for sure. After seeing the first 20 pages of all your photos my heart is racing and my daydreams are in hyperdrive.

The MIM Standard was made for you. Get one cheap off Craigslist for $300 or so. There are a bunch of people who will buy it, then realize they don't really wanna learn to play.
So the guitar is used but barely even played. Try to get an '06+ where someone has also got an HSC for it. Good luck.

A pic of my collection

Image

Yngwie, Sambora (mim), 93 strat mim, Strat VG.

Since I put the modshop's noisless in the white mim, it still is my favorite. Although the new yngwie (got it yesterday) is gaining ground.

Oh, and whoever has that strat with purple wavy paint job and lace sensor pups ... that is one bad @ssed MF'er. Sweet guitar dude.

Hey, Ian Sheridan! We were just saying nice things about you a few days ago and wondering where you'd got to...

Tell me, did your relicing process involve taking the paint off the numbers on the knobs too? How did you do that bit?

Cheers man - C

Hey mate, how's it going? Hope life is treating you good! I thought I'd drop by and could't resist posting a pick of my strat on this thread as I took it to band practice last week instead of the Tele and it really sounded good!!(previously the band have not been too impressed due to lack of power and slightly thin distorted tones - but the new songs are a bit more airy and cleaner) I really hope I can gig with it some time, I reckon I'll look pretty cool on stage with a knackered strat!

The knobs were a bit of an issue, as I thought it would be nice to remove some of the bright gold shiny paint, so I stuck them in a jar of turpentine substitute, and it all dissolved! Doh!
So a couple of weeks later I brushed some dark acrylic on the numbers and lettering and buffed off the remainder while it was still soft, and later rubbed a bit of oily grime (from under my wifes singer sewing machine!) into the grooves, and now they look much better! I'll be leaving the thing alone now and just playing it!

Cheers!

Ian
