Thank you for your nice words.. I just love this guitar, really. It was a very, very good deal I made. As I said, no matter how many guitars I buy in the future, this one sure has a very special place in my heart. I was just playing it a few hours ago. It feels very comfortable. It´s not particularly heavy and it plays very easily. Sure my new American Standard sounds killer and has a very nice neck, but this one has something.. :)

This is one of two that I have.
This is an All-Parts with a CBS neck.
Neck has been shaved to fit my small hands.
Just about the best Strat I've ever played.
The one thing I still have left to do is install a telecaster switch.

Let's see if I can get this image posting business sorted out...

Image

...so far, so good. ^ That's my 2005 CS '66 relic, and this is my '91 strat ultra:

She's a real show pony, that ultra...

Here's a closer look at some of the relic treatment. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea -- if so, scroll back up to the ultra! The teal green is difficult to capture well. In the flesh it usually appears lighter somehow, like an ocean turquoise.

Aaahh... Presuming that the other was the '54 would this be the '64?

A suggestion with the macro. If you've got an optical zoom as well try getting the lens a few inches further back and zooming in for the same composition. You're so close you are getting a fisheye effect and both your bridges look like the metal plate is curved.

Is that parallax? Can't remember.

On my body building thread the first couple of pix had the same effect - it looks like I'm using a curved steel ruler! Been standing on a chair and zooming in instead, since those photos. The things we do for the Forum!

Cheers - C

You are correct, sir!

This bridge doesn't look as road worn. For future vintage verifcations, notice the tooling marks on the saddles (caused by the bending machine, I guess).

I can use some suggestions on picture taking! This was the only picture that turned out half-way decent for me yesterday. Holding the camera still enough was a problem. Perhaps your "step back and zoom" suggestion will fix that too?

Sometimes the curving effect can be cool!

Thanks, man!

For the record, I just checked. Parallax is something different. I'll leave Wikipedia to help anyone who cares...

Anyhow - the wonder of digital photography is that we don't have to pay for 72 photos to be processed to find the one that's focused and composed right.

I guess there's kids reading that wondering what the heck I'm talking about. Where's my walking frame...?

Our local Photomat has been a Hot Dog Stand for quite a few years now.
