MIM Strat, Midnight Wine, I swapped out the white stuff for black.
On the backplate I routed out the opening such that I could change strings without removing it. I believe I've got 4 springs in it right now.
I also added '69 Custom Shop pickups.

Amazing dude. You have my guitar minus the black parts... and you seriously have me considering the same switch.

I think once I have enough to get new pick-ups I'll shop around for the black parts too. that just looks beautiful

Well all you Strat people, I went & did it...... again, LOL
Bought me another Strat. This time it's the Special Edition Koa.
Don't have it home yet as I gotta finish paying it off, but....
I have a photo of one that looks almost like it:

Besides the gorgeous body, the birdseye (neck &) headstock really got me.
It also sports Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups. I just couldn't resist.
I'd like to get a dark brown Hard Shell case for this one. Tooled or plain? mmmmm
Maybe I'll go with a Black Tweed. I guess we'll just have to see, eh?

Thanks,
I changed out the pickups to all DiMarzio's. Do a web search for black anodized turned aluminum pickguards! I saw one on a midnight wine strat that looked killer. My current black pickguard shows a lot of fine scratches very easily. Some day I will replace it with the turned aluminum.

I am also proud of the (Gator) case modifications so that I could take it out of the house.

this is my first electric guitar.... version 1.0

Fender "fat" Strat HSS

Just bought it in October. I've noticed that a lot of folk are into the Midnight Wine finish and this type of strat.... which sorta took away from the feeling I initially felt.

No matter... this is what it looks like now. Give me about a years time to gain some experience and then I'll start to modify this. New pickups and a change of color perhaps...

I did name it too...

Me gigging with my 88 HM Strat I've had since new.
Whole lotta lovin on that neck.
The guitar is bone stock, never felt the need to 'improve' it.
I got over the pink thing as soon as I felt the neck.
Feel wins over fashion every day for me.

I have about 5 or 6 other Strats, but this was my #1 for about 18 years.
I still use it for the shred portion of our show since it's the only one that will survive Satriani covers.

Yeah but Hot Pink was cool in the 80s. I loved the HM Strats, they are great guitars.
