Right, figured it was something along those lines. Gotta say, it looks really tasty. Sometimes, that type of finish gives a kind of "high school woodwork project" vibe to a guitar, but yours works just beautifully. I've been admiring it since you first posted a pic on another thread.

It would look very fine on a Tele too, donchathink? Sort of Springsteen-with-balls look. Hmm...

Me gigging with my 88 HM Strat I've had since new.
Whole lotta lovin on that neck.
The guitar is bone stock, never felt the need to 'improve' it.
I got over the pink thing as soon as I felt the neck.
Feel wins over fashion every day for me.

I have about 5 or 6 other Strats, but this was my #1 for about 18 years.
I still use it for the shred portion of our show since it's the only one that will survive Satriani covers.

Thanks C, glad you like it! not bad for my first one right? the stain brought out a nice gold color, I don't think straight Tung oil would have come close to looking as good
Sounds like you might have your own project in the works, did I give you the bug?

I've thought about getting that same type of pickguard for my burgundy Strat...just never got around to it, I guess...but your picture definitely serves as an inspiration.

Now I gotta find the money, of course. :p

Again, her name is Delilah. She's a 2008 American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster. Oh, how I love her! :D
