I own a Fender Startocaster. It fell down accidentally today. Some paint has chipped off. What should I do people? Should I get it painted at a local store or something? By the way I'm from India. Please do help me out people. I've uploaded an image too. http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/9389/02012012180.jpg

Don't worry, you'd pay serious bucks for a guitar like that from the Custom shop
!

Unless you pay alot of money to have the body stripped and refinished, nothing can really be done. Poly finishes are tough, but when they chip, they don't leave many repair options. Is the guitar USA or Mexican made? Is it a Squier? The calibre of guitar you have will dictate whether it would be worth paying to have the body finish repaired. I would just ignore it as long as the chip isn't in a spot where it will rub your arm and be uncomfortable.

After you get that first chip or ding, any you get after that are less traumatic.

Thanks everyone. I was just being skeptical. It's just a minor chip. I have applied some strong tape over it and if you were just wondering; it's an American Stratocaster.

Agreed, would you put strong tape on your grandpa to keep him looking young?

I agree with the guys. Just let it be. Remove that tape. :) People pay quite a bit of money for a relic.

Two of the coolest looking strats I know are Clapton's Blackie and Stevie Ray's #1. They are mostly chips and wear huh?

I wouldn't leave my guitar looking that bad. I'd paint it in with a magic marker.
