Im looking very strongly at the Black Blacktop Floyd Rose Strat as an option for my next Strat.
I had a blacktop before and loved it!
I am thinking Fender Vintage Noiseless Black Pickups and maybe a silver pearl or black
pearl pickguard from Warmoth.
Then a Dimarzio Super Distortion.

Anyone have one of these Floyd Rose Blacktops yet?
I know the guitar rocks, how are the Floyd Rose Specials?

I just got one myself a few days ago. The Floyd Special on it is adequate but I am spoiled with the Orginal Floyd Rose. I am planning on a new pick guard with HSH configuration. I do not plan on changing the Floyd on it, but it is not up to the same quality as the original Floyd Rose. The guitar is already routed and configured for a Floyd Rose, so if you plan on changing it out it is ready.

If you can play one before buying I strongly recommend it. I admit that I am pleased with mine so far, I was suprised that it sounded better than my old Blacktop HH I used to own.

Rk,
Do you think it sounds better because the
they're open buckers vs covered.
I know there is a huge discussion at the
Gibson forum.
I dont have a blacktop, but I'm a fan.
I especially loved the telecaster bt I tested

Honestly I cannot say. All I know is that it sounds a lot better than my first Blacktop Strat. Like I said aside from the Floyd Rose system and microtilt neck is has the same specs minus the nickel covers.
