When Fender updated their American Deluxe series guitars and basses in 2004, they offered a souped-up version of the Deluxe HSS Strat with the choice of flamed or quilted maple bent top and an ebony fretboard.

However, a very few of these guitars were sold with the locking bridge option and weren't available as a part of Fender's regular product lines (supposedly Factory Special Runs commissioned from a specific dealer?).

Any thoughts?

They need to offer a deluxe now with transparent black ash body, Dimarzio D Activator and Imjecter Singles locking tremolo and I like the rosewood better.

How ya doin chromeface?

There have been a few discussions about that bridge. It appears Fender has quit making it. There was a link posted to an aftermarket company selling the bridge but I checked and they have none in stock. I have that bridge on one of my Strats and I think it's a great bridge. It's a little finnicky to set. It also seems to look "dirty" after a while, the satin finish of the saddles catching dirt and not allowing it to be rubbed off. Nothing a little soapy water and a toothbrush can't fix. It gets a 10+ for comfort against your right hand.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Yes I have this bridge too its the greatest. I got enough to keep this deluxe alive forever but it would be nice if they kept parts and bridge available for us.

Yes, but this Strat Pro Special lacks off the S1 switch.

Additionally the CS offers the same guitar with DiMarzio Areas (58 for the neck/mid and 61 for the bridge).

Im ok to not have a S-1. I dont like or dislike it. I would want that guitar with a pearl pickguard and a dimarzio d'activator.
