I have a Classic Player's 50s. I like it. Had liked the idea of the shoreline gold and the 'vintage' pups for a while, so when I found a NOS on sale last summer, I bought it.

The locking tuners are nice (once you figure them out), the tone is fine, and the quality is there. A great value!

Well, I have a classic player tele. It's really good, the build quality and finish are very good, which will probably carry over to a strat.

Hi Alan: one thing I know about the CP guitars is that Steve Macari of Macaris famous guitar shop in London told me he sells more Classic Players than all other Fender guitars put together. Not sure what conclusions we draw from that, but it's an amusing little factoid, at any rate.

Enjoy yours.

Cheers - C

Classic Player '50's doesn't come in white anyway. Only sunburst and shoreline gold.

Alan I'm gassing for a classic player 60's strat myself. None of the local shops big or small around here carry them. I would really like to try before I buy. I have bought online and always had good results, but I'm afraid one of these days the law of averages is going to catch up to me and I will get stuck with a lemon.
I can't even find a used one on Craigs list or e-bay, it seems the guys that have them don't want to part with them. That tells me they must be really good  . You shouldn't have any trouble selling your Sheraton, they are great guitars. I would like to find a classic in three TSB like my old strat so I can stroll down memory lane in my old age  .
