I just bought a used (2009) black standard start, which had had multiple version of pickups installed. The guy reinstalled the stock ones for this sale. The knobs and pickup covers are almost tan - especially the knobs. The pickups I can chalk up as "vintage" or aged, but does that extend to an almost tan color? I looked around, but couldn't find anywhere that sold that color, so I'm just curious.

The guitar plays and sound great, and it was $250, so I'm not complaining. I just wanted to know in case I ever sell it so I can tell the next person.

There are so many aftermarket pickup cover and knob outfits out there with their take on what is a 'vintage', 'worn', or whatever. So, yes. As to whether they are OEM Fender, who knows? Also, as the prior owner did some serious tinkering with it, he may not even know anymore. If you ever do sell it down the road, I'd simply say, "This is what the guitar came with when I bought it". OTOH, if this current plastic scheme bothers you, you could always buy a set of genuine Fender replacement plastics more to your liking. Here too though, upon selling it would you state, "All Fender" vs. not, "All OEM Fender"? FWIW, this particular model guitar is SO numerous, it will never be a collector's item in at the very least (if at all), multiple generations to come. As this is common knowledge, I would presume any prospective buyer to not be too concerned about the heritage of the plastics one way or the other.
