I don't know about the Fender board, but I would imagine a famous person would (obviously) want to be incognito, or maybe even just lurk in the background and not register/log-in/post etc...

A number of years ago, I had a nice PM conversation going with Barry Goudreau (ex-Boston guitarist). This was on another guitar forum, and he was posting up a few things that I happen to think about and then put 2+2 together. I sent him a PM asking if it he was who he was, and assured him that I was retired military still with an active secret security clearance, etc... and he would be safe with me, etc... Lo and behold - he PM'd me back and yes, it really was Barry Goudreau. He was a really nice guy, very down to earth, and was talking about getting into a group called Ernie & the Automatics. Over the years, I lost his contact info though. Even if I had it, I wouldn't give it out....

Ceri- International spy, world renown luthier, and saviour of the western world. Likes to fly pigs over abandoned power plants in his spare time.
Xhefri- Ultimate & Stratplus guru also known for his knowledge of volcanoes.
Martian- Well aside from his knowlege of all things electrical he's out of this world.
Nikininja- Well spoken tinkerer extrordinaire, and arsonist.
Retroverbial- walking amplifier encyclopedia.
DocZ- Famous soul surgeon and musician from the big city
Miami Mike- Retired famous guy who collaborates with others on Soundclick.
Nevin- The Legend no need to say more.
Alain laFrance- Famous French musician and guitar enthusiast whose collection is the envy of Guitar Center and Chicago Music Exchange. Seriously.
Anybody from Texas-this includes Screamin Armadillo and Texasguitarslinger

Jeff Beck comes here every so often to ask questions about how to keep a Strat in tune: it's been quite a problem for him.

Eric Clapton starts most of the maple v rosewood threads.

And Eddie Van Halen has started a few threads about how much you can mod a guitar and still call it a Fender.

Of course, all these people post under assumed identities. You have to know what you're looking for if you want to spot them. 8)
