this year i got a blacktop stratocaster for xmas. its a great guitar and suits my style of music extremely well , i love it , and i think it looks great .this is not my first blacktop , i also have the jaguar and love that too .

@Schritzer : how r you ?? , what part of ireland are you from ?? i plan on keeping both my blacktop guitars stock as I'm happy with everything about em ( pickups etc ) and as i said they suit my music style . what really amazes me about them is how much guitar you get for the money , its a really nice range in my opinion

I'm from Donegal. Glad you're happy with the BTs, i'm thinkin of buying a Floyd Rose Blacktop strat in the new year, when the cash flow looks a bit healthier!! I've heard some say the humbuckers are a little muddy but I guess it really depends on your style of music!

I've been thinking of getting one of these after trying it out. Very nice. That's the 3rd one I've seen with the shaft of the string tree missing, weird.

The shaft missing?? My CS Gilmour has the same tree so presumably it's just a different type.

Congrats on the Christmas Strat Conork. Nice family on fine instruments you've got there. Is there a Telecaster in the future ahead? I'll have to try a blacktop myself someday.

thanks for your comments everyone , the missing string tree post doesn't seem to affect playability for me . i was looking at a tele when choosing this , but picked this instead , it was a blue mim standard with maple neck .it was nice but the blacktop was nicer i also looked at the blacktop tele in the same color as my strat , black with maple , but took the strat , guess I'm a strat guy although i would love a 72 deluxe tele or classic player jaguar hh , or even an american stratocaster
