Hey, does anyone know of a site that has audio samples of specific pickups being played. I was thinking I may shop around for some new pickups and listening to samples off the web would really give me a good start. I'm looking for both humbuckers and single coils, although im pretty set on lace sensors at this point for the single coils. My friend has lace sensors, they are awesome.

This Kinman guy is an eccentric genius. Fender, fix the noiseless or buy Kinman and use his! The guy's half broke and just wants to make $@! Kickin' pickups.

Brad Paisley has them in his blue paisley tele,

I played a tlele with them one time, absolutely awesome tone. Check out the sound samples on his website, then remember you're hearing them through computer speakers.

For single coils try: www.billlawrence.com

For Humbuckers try www.crcoils.com

In both cases they are friends of mine so tell them I sent you.

Hey, Thanks for the links. I was on the Seymour Duncan site earlier and it was a big help. Right now I have a HH Strat that I am gonna try to convert to a HSH Strat. Right now im thinking of getting a "Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Humbucker Pickup" for the neck. A fender Lace sensor for the middle, and a "Seymour Duncan SH13 Dimebucker Dimebag Darrell Humbucker Pickup" for the bridge.

Basically im looking for a setup that can play anything, from Metal all the way to Blues and Jazz, with still keeping that fender sound as well. I'm gonna use the middle Lace sensor to get that fender sound, I love lace sensors. I gonna use the neck Alnico II Pro for Jazz/Blues and the bridge Dimebucker for Metal. I want to stay away from active pickups becaues they sound too sterile for me, plus I have to worry about a battery.

Does this setup make any sense to you? If it does any recommendations? Thanks for the replies.

Hi, check out copperheadpickups.com I have a 59 set and a tele bridge pickup from them, excellent pickups, a true strat sound. Hand wound to vintage specs or whatever you want!

I have a set of the Kinman AVn Blues pickups in my Clapton Stratocaster- VERY balanced tone. All of his pickups are hand-wound and his pickups are dead quiet. I'm thinking about putting in a set of the 50's styled pickups into my CS Strat for when I get tired of the Texas Specials. Plus, the guy is very responsive to user feedback. I had a question about wiring the pickups into the midboost on the Clapton- he got back with me within a couple of days.

Hey thanks for the replies. Does anyone here run a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro on the bridge and a Gold Lace Sensor in the middle. If so how do they sound together. I think this may be my next setup. Thanks

I just ripped out the Lace sensors & electronics from my Clapton Blackie
& put in a set of Fralins. ITS ALIVE!!!!!!

Truthfully, I found the Lace sensors a little dull sounding. I am into a more vintage tone for blues & they just couldn't cut it. They are quiet though &
I did have to shield the guitar when I put the real single coils in.

Now the thing sounds sweet. Thank you Lindy Fralin.
