Someone please help me on step by step putting on the strings on the fender deluxe players strat. I just tried putting on new strings and here is how i did it. Its wrong i bet. I put the string up through the bottom of the guitar and just laid it in the crease of the tuning keys. then winded it. But now the strings can just come out because they are just laying there. Its not like other guitars with a hole to put the string through its different. Then i tightened the strings and this thing popped up and it is not laying flat it is almost vertical now. Somebody please help me.

here is the thing im talking about that is pulled up instead of flat!

Location: Hot Atlanta.
Your are showing 2 different examples.
The Strat you will load the string thru the body, on the back side of the guitar.

On the Tele it looks like it loads from the back of the bridge.
Most Teles load thru the body like the Strat.

With the vintage tuners that have a slot insted of a hole.
You need to cut the string amout 2 inchs longer that the post.
Stick the end of the string into the hole (verticaly) and bend at 90 degrees.
then hold the string in the hole as you tighen the winding.
Make sre your winding the correct direction.

The newer tuners just put the string in the hole and turn.

see the set up guide on the Fendere web site.

Hope this helps
