I have a mex stratocaster, currently my bridge is Virtual Heavy Blues 2 by Dimarzio, and neck&middle Texas Special.

I am looking for a higher output with emphasis on mids for a fuller sound without sounding dull.
A guy sells them to me for 70 euros (for both neck&middle). Good deal?
Are they what I am looking for? I tend to find the TS not as full or as loud as I would like, although I like the twang...

The Tall Boys will give you a bit more output, a friend has a set in his strat, but not sure you would notice. The Texas Specials are overwound to have pronounced mids. We have A/B'd them and there didn't seem to much of a volume difference and tone was pretty close, with maybe the Tall Boys having a bit more crispness, but just a touch.

I personally went with the Texas Specials.

I bought them vintage tallboys from RioGrande. I installed them in neck and middle position. The result is marvelous. Not only they sound a hell of a difference to my ex-TS, they also bite and sing according to your strumming-picking technique. Also, their gain is amazing in the drive channel of my Rivera. They are made for rock and blues, and I absolutely love them. Do try them if you get the chance.
I was lucky I bought both (second hand) for the rediculous amount of 70 euros...
