My American Standard 60th Anniversary Tele buzzes quite a bit. Especially when I use distortion. Anything I can do to stop it buzzing? Thanks

Have you checked all the ground wires/connections?

Look buddy....we don't care about your Telecaster issue; you know why? Because this is the STRATOCASTER forum!!!! Ya got 'dat??? :) All kidding aside (and yes I was just messing with you a bit - well technically...never mind), I'd take steve-strat's advice and check your wiring. Does this only happen when you play at home?

All the distortion is doing is amplifying the noise that's already there. If the ground wires etc are Ok I'd look into shielding if it's that big a problem.

The reason 93greenstrat is asking if it mainly happens at home is there are a lot of household appliances that can be a source of noise, anything that's capable of producing EMR (electro magnetic radiation) ie TVs, computer monitors, anything with a motor (fridges-freezers etc), certain types of lighting, you can even pick up a 50Hz or 60Hz (depending where you are) hum from the electrical ring main in the house. Try switching as many things off as you can or getting as far away from anything electrical as you can and see if it's as bad. I had a problem a while ago which turned out to be the new flourescent tube lighting our tropical fish tank :?
