I've been offered what I think is a good deal on a black 2001 ’68 Reverse Headstock Stratocaster.. Information about this model can be found below..

This will be my first stratocaster - how does it compare to a new stratocaster deluxe 2011 for an example? How much worse is it compared to an old custom shop?

I know the white reverse body "Hendrix Tribute Stratocaster" is rare and expensive, but this "voodoo strat" is maybe comparable to any regular standard stratocaster?

Of all the Strats in all the nightclubs in all the world, that's exactly the one I'd want. Haven't seen this particular guitar, but I'd take it, if I were you.

P.S. Dear FMIC: Please bring this guitar back.

I'm more than happy with my 'homemeade' version of this.
This is a MIM 60's Reverse Special with a 2011 American Special lefty neck.
(I didn't like the stock 7.25" radius MAPLE neck that the guitar came with....so I got a Rosewood 9.5" neck to replace it!)
I've got it set up just the way i like it!
I have Fender/Schaller locking tuners, Graph Tech String saver saddles, DiMarzio Area 58(n),Area 67(m), and a Virtual Solo(br.)
The guitar itself was $600.00; the neck: $200,pickups and the rest..another $300.00.
So for a paultry sum of $1100.00 , I've got this axe done MY WAY!
I can't imagine a stock Reverse Strat being more pleasing to me than this!

But, hey....if you can get a good deal on it................

I just recently purchased one about 3-4 weeks ago. After having a setup and playing it for a little. I really do like it. It is different and the left handed pickups give you a weird, yet cool sound.

SO. I say IMO, its good.
