My son and daughter, their spouses and their two sons each - four grandsons - will all be here for five days over Christmas with me and my lovely wife of 41 years. We'll have a great time together, the guys will spend time in the Music Room and jam, the grandsons will want to touch everything in the Music Room... All in all, I'm a very lucky man.

And I'm pretty sure there is a trans-red Charvel Desolation 2 guitar nicely wrapped and already under the Christmas tree! It's gonna be another great Christmas!

I don't want anything. Honestly, the best part about Christmas is getting together with my family. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, being a province away (8.5 hr drive), so Christmas is often one of two times a year I get to see them.

Time is more valuable than anything anyone could give.

Family is the greatest thing. Grand kids are amazing, you can't express how much they mean to you and when they enter your life, the feeling is indescribable.

CR, really nice guitar. Every time my soon to be three year old comes over, she picks out one of my basses and has to play. This time I set her up and she says, "Aren't you going to take my picture?" So I did!

Don't want any more stuff, really... the business had a smashing year again this year and I ended up with a lot of new gear: A Godin 5th Avenue, a PRS SE Singelecut, a new Egnater speaker cab, a Line 6 M13, a 1950s Oahu lap steel, a slick little Arturia keyboard for the desk so I'm not all the time jumping out of my chair and walking over to the keys rack to play two notes, a bunch of new mics (including a killer ribbon mic), an upgraded headphone amp for the live room and our new Tascam DM3200 digital console and Firewire interface (replaced the old Yamaha 02R). I am seriously loaded for bear at this point (and my wife ordered me a set of Sony 7509HD reference headphones for Xmas). We hadn't upgraded anything in many years, and now was the time. (Sold off a pile of old stuff, too.)

What I really want for Christmas is to take time, relax, revel in my sons' success, give presents, sip some good Scotch, light a fire, have dinner with some friends we don't see often enough, take some time to think about the beauty and the tragedy of life, pray for the sun to come back and regenerate for 2012.

I wish you all the best of the season. Whatever holiday you celebrate, I hope this one brings you peace and sweetness. God rest ye merry, gentlemen.

Sorry, couldn't resist... nothing cuter than a footed jammies child playing bass! Here's mine.

As for me, for Christmas, I wish for the strength to continue my recovery.... anyone who knows, it is a long, hard journey.

Happy Holidays all!

Great picture, you're right, nothing better than bass players in footie jammies. Continued healing and improvement for you this coming year!

A candy apple red Eric Johnson Strat. Maple neck version, of course.

While presents and toys and other assorted gifts are nice, it's all to obvious to everyone, the holidays bring out a lot of memories. We've all had loved ones pass away close to memorable dates and it just seems to make it worse. for all of you who have those memories, I'm sorry if my jubilation in my particular present brought you down.

I know how it feels, my Dad died December 7, 1965. Bad enough on a day of remembrance, and too close to Christmas.

Peace on Earth ( or at least the Fender Forum) and good will towards Man. For myself I wouldn't mind a Boss DD 7 or a Electro Harmonix English Muffin.
