A friend gave me a 1960's Fender Stratocaster and I was wondering if anybody knew how much they cost?

People often use sloppy terminology, especially when they aren't as obsessed with Fenders as most of us are.

"1960's Strat" could easily mean a MIM Classic'60s or a MIJ reissue of some sort. Or it could mean a hunk o' junk Strat copy from the '60s (a lot of soldiers in Viet Nam brought back crappy Strat copies).

**********************

EvanGibson, please understand that this forum has recently been pestered by a persistant troll who keeps coming back under new usernames, and making a wild claim about being given an extremely valuable vintage instrument is/was exactly the sort of thing he would do. We generally don't treat naive newbies so roughly and if you had asked this 6 months ago people probably would have started off by asking for pics and more details rather than just assuming you're a troll.

Assuming you're serious, you need to give us a lot more info. If it's an actual Fender Strat made back in the 1960's, Fender changed the Strat several times during that decade -- some years are more valuable than others. And some colors are rarer and more valuable than others. If it's a replica/reissue it's worth much less than any vintage 1960's Fender Strat.

Pics would be the best way for people to figure out what you have and what it's worth.
