Thought I would share my guitar with you guys now that I have modified it slightly.

It is a 2004 American Standard Fender Stratocaster (I think?), and all I have done is fit much stiffer springs to the bridge so the tremolo is effectively locked, and I also fitted a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Junior pickup to the bridge and installed a coil tap in the middle tone knob.

Not a huge amount, but it has totally transformed the guitar. It is now the perfect instrument (in my opinion of course!) and I literally can't think of anything else I want to do to it, or replace it with.

I thought about putting a single coil sized humbucker in the bridge of my American Standard. How does your sound? Does it have great harmonics and thick midrange like a standard sized humbucker? Sadly, I never really bonded with my American Standard Strat and I ended up trading it for an American Deluxe Strat, Sunset Metallic, SSS, rosewood fretboard. I see no need to change the pickups in this guitar, since it has the S-1 switch. It allows many alternate pickup configurations including a bridge/middle combination wired in series like a humbucker.
I'm glad you've found the perfect Strat. It'll last you a lifetime.
