Roll it out to the back yard?

Just wondering. Toppscore :)

:? :? I'm not sure what you mean exactly by equipment.....If you are refering to all the tools pictured..
Of course this is just a small part of my tool kit as a carpenter. it's impossible to repair, rebuild, renovate old homes without a fairly big assortment of tools. I don't know.... if you were to put a value on it all....$25,000 to $30,000 give or take, probably much more it's not something I think about. I don't borrow tools, I actually don't know anyone in my field who loans tools out...I have done it much to my chagrin as they get returned abused,,..,except for the B.I.L. who returned my Bosch compound miter with a new $200 blade..But he also has a shop at his house to make you envious.... 8)

If you are talking about guitars, yep they are all mine though some have been sold, if they are the one's with the Fender logo on the page, those were off the Fender Wallpaper which was available some time back ..

This is one of the fun segments I was anticipating....Routing out the final contour....

Image

Small router and a 1/4" flush bit. the small router is both easier to handle especially when routing in between the horns....

Image

Image

It's basically set up the body in the work station and align both the template and body, lock it down with clamps and work your way around the contour ( counter clockwise since the bit is spinning clockwise )

Bit of an issue with the bandsaw marks, had to readjust the template back a little just in the inside contour of the horn.

Image

Image

Trimmed and on to the rest
Halfway done, flip it over and do the other side...

Image

Done and routed.

Image

It is looking like a Strat body almost ready for laying out the hardware and cavities to route than to final shape and carve...

No, just the tools.
My Grandfather had monsterous collections of tools and machines and saws
and jars of cajillions of nuts and bolts and nails and mountains of rolls of tape
and catrillions of screw drivers and hammers and and and and

Of course, when I helped out, we smothered ourselves in "Invisible Glove"

53 Mag.
You mentioned "Strat Body".
Don't you have to pay royalty to Fender?

Noooo.....This is not a commercial venture, it's a one off personal mod, no laws being affected here unless I was to advertise as a Fender Style Body for sale. But that was never the intent..

Guess you can not get so close to the real thing "It's Memorx Close"
or you will get sued. Thinking how so many Strat Tele LPaul
& Gibson cloners get away with the copying. Toppscore 8)

No... You're kind of missing the point, this is/are my guitars. I'm making custom bodies for instruments I'm going to keep, play and so on. I'm not doing this as a commercial venture, therefore I'm not infringing on Fender's trademark's or it's line of products. I'm not offering these up for sale.

We all can customize our Strats and Tele's as we wish, it's when you intend to sell replacement bodies as genuine Fender products that is not lawful.....If you do a search you will find a lot of info and threads on this very subject of parts casters... ZZDoc pretty much clarified the points of contention on this subject...

Love the grain on that wood Mag. Woodworking is something I have no talent for, well on your way to a beauty!

Thanks... I'm getting impatient to unclamp the Telepartster body and see what I have after routing out the contour, but I have about 3 to 5 days to wait....

Naw, I was just joking around. All of the bodies look like SGs or Teles or Strats.
Pretty hard to make something so close and get Fender on one's rear end.
I am impress with your documented progress and commentary.
Thanks. Toppscore :)

Thanks, unfortunately I have to drive up to NH tomorrow with the wife since she is attending a meeting for Protandim.....I'm not thrilled and highly skeptical....

So work on the layout of the Stratopartster is going to have to wait a couple days, mayybee I'll get a chance to pop in to a guitar store up there and relax. I'm just not into getting in the car for a 3 to 4 hour drive to go and listen to someone talk about multilevel marketing and why I should consider getting on the band wagon.....OK...Rant Over....
