Thank You Asgeirman,
I just switched strings. went from Ernie Ball slinkies in a 0900 to 042 to D'adarrio's 010 to 046 NY XL's.
I have to say that this guitar is a very different guitar. It doesn't feel or sound like either a Tele or a Strat, but somewhere in the middle...
After a week and a half of playing it, it definitely brings out more of a rhythm style rather than lead. Although I built it with the latter in mind.
It's resonance and sustain just pushes you to play chords, very enjoyable to say the least....
It breathed new life into a musical journey...

My tech www.guitar-hospital.net swears by D'Addario strings. He maintains that the best guage for Strats and Teles are '10's.

That's the beauty of different guitars :D - different sound and feel. Inspires the playing in different directions , even inspires to new songs !
I put those '' D'adarrio's 010 to 046 NY XL's'' on my 50s classic strat a couple of weeks ago, and I'm really satisfied- they really make the strat sing! I tend to agree with Doc- for Strat & Tele 10's are the best.
In a couple of days I hopefully will receive a brand new AmDlx Strat (Shawbucker) - and I'm excited to feel/hear how she plays, also with the original strings ,or if I have to change to 10's immediately

Specs used to provide the string gauges. Don't find the new format as convenient. Chances are the guitar will be coming through with '9's. Easier to bend, but tonality may not be as rich.

I agree that the old format was more easy to look for an actually find what one was looking for ; but , hey- I found this :
''MISCELLANEOUS''
STRINGS: Fender® USA Bullets® 3250L, NPS, (.009-.042 Gauges)

I have to giv'em a spin ;-)

Thank You much, at the moment I am so busy with school that everything guitar related has taken a distant backseat.. Later this fall after midterms should see some daylight for the other projects.
