Thanks for starting this thread. I kept getting bashed on other threads by the pickup purist. Well I'm gonna keep this going by showing my Strats transformation over a period of days, on this thread. I'll call today's set of pic's, befittingly, "Ramping up..."

Thanks Bro. The PU are Seymour Duncan APH-1, Alnico II Pro's. They are F*#king killer. You can dial in a nice jazz tone and then let the bridge PU push the amp into overdrive, or put clean tone on the neck and it's blues heaven.

Hey guys, just bought the blacktop strat in sonic blue.. I'm looking for a 3ply black/white/black pickguard to replace the white/cream original. Are the dementions the same as a standard H/H strat? I want to keep the original pups.
Cheers.

It is the same dimentions as a regular pick guard. I had to go through an aftermarket distributor for mine.

Pay just attention to one thing: if you want to keep your original pups, the new pickguard must have the two humbucker windows with square corners. If you buy an original Fender HH pickguards your pups won't fit in there, unless you modify it. This is because Fender ones, or many pickguards, are shaped for open coils Humbuckers :) You can check on the Warmoth site

they give you the choice about that. Check the difference on the pups windows by selecting the option "Humbucker" (which is the one you need) or "Fat Humbucker- no cover" and you can see what i'm talking about

Cheerz and welcome! Another Sonic Blue! yours is with maple fingerboard like mine?

+1...Now all you need to do is paint the headstock black (which would probably require re-decaling) and your all set!
