Hi I was wondering if anyone coud tell me the age of my guitar. SN MX11050731 how much do you think its worth since its a signed quitar by COLDPLAY 2011. PS I won this guitar a couple of weeks ago.

Hi ligaya100,

The serial number indicates a 2011 Mexican model (MX11). To a rabid Cold Play fan it might be worth something, but a Mex model is not likely valuable to anyone else, and won't increase in value as an Am guitar would. Some think that the value is less when written all over like that. A used Mex Strat like this is worth about $300, and the signatures aren't going to add much to the value, if any. If I bought it, I would clean the signatures off, and it would then be more desirable for me, and most others.

Nice guitar though! (except for the graffiti) That is my favorite color combo, white with rosewood fret board.

Aww......I dunno Shimmilou........I dont think we disagree, really.....except you're obviously not a Coldplay fanboy. I would just say the basic same thing as you in a slightly different way. Over and above what this would normally be worth is the Coldplay sigs. To a Coldplay fan/collector, it may be worth who knows?
If i was independantly wealthy and a Beatles sig were offered on something.....i would at least pause and think about it. A Clapton Sig on a Starcaster would likely go for a higher yield then a normal Starcaster wouldn't it ? ( I know...strange example)

I guess I just dont agree with the last line of your post. I would leave the Sigs alone as thats where (currently) the "extra" value is over and above whatever the current standard value is. Now, if you're just gonna play it, not sell it, or collect it....and arent that into the band.....

Yeah, some people like that sort of stuff. I have a friend that has a Tele with an unreadable signature on it, covered with what looks like silicon. It bugs me and I keep asking him to clean it off, but he is convinced that it is Robben Ford's signature, even though he bought it that way, and the previous owner didn't know the signature. It looks nothing like that though, not even close.
