Hi all,

My first post here so apologies if this has already been asked. I'm new to playing the guitar and have just bought a Standard Strat. This is set up with the fender 9's.

If I change the strings & were to put a set of Ernie Ball regular slinkys on would the set up have to be adjusted. I'm finding that the 9's seem to go out of tune very quickly ie even during a practice session.

Sorry for what may seem a simple question but I have no idea :)

If you move up to a bigger gauge, then yes, you'll most likely have to adjust something, whether it's the truss rod, saddle height, etc., of course depending on how the new gauges effect your setup, it's up to you as to whether or not something will need to be changed. If you make a really big jump in string gauge, then a nut job may be in order. You shouldn't have any problem going from 9's to 10's though.

Changing from super bullet strings to a string make of the same guage should be fine as well, if you were wondering..
