Hey

Here I have some pics of a strat which I maybe will buy. The body should be a late 64 Fender. The neck isnt a 64 but do you from what year?

See pics in the link:

it looks risky to me. it definitely wasn't originally white :? and the neck definitely isn't 1964 for many reasons. do you have any pics of the body cavity and underside of the pick guard?

also I am not positive but I beleive the neck pocket should have no paint on half and not just a patch, but don't quote me on that

Actually, many custom-color Duco finishes were applied directly over 3TSB during production. That said, this guitar (if authentic) has little intrinsic value as a '64 due to the crude battery rout on the back. The pickguard seems genuine but the bridge saddles are definitely modern replacements, likely MIM. A photo showing the pickup routs and nail holes would've definitely helped in the provenance department.

Risky is right. It's hard to tell if that body is vintage.

The other parts are not vintage.

No way that's authentic. You can see the polly caking up next to the trem in the trem cavity. This body whenever it was made was originally painted with polly. Therefore I'm positive this is a fake. I wouldn't buy it. If you want to know what I'm talking about then look next to the trem block in the cavity on an originally Nitro finished guitar and compare it to a polly finished guitar you'll see the difference. Polly tends to "Cake up" in there making a "rough" look where the nitro tends to be smoother like the body without all the roughness. Hope this helps you.
