I'm thinking of getting a different pickguard for a new look for my strat. I have a highway 1 that is a dark red that shows the wood grain. It has a tratitional white guard on it. It looks nice but when my nephew shows up with his mini squier in the same color scheme, I thought maybe it's time to shake mine up a bit. I have seen the pearl ones and they look nice, but I'm not sure what color would look good with the red. Any thoughts? :?:

Black and red are always a classic combo.

I also like a nice black and white checkerboard on red. Probably going to go with that on my Nashville Tele, as I don't like the tortoise pickguard on the red guitar.

I like the Moto pickguards Fender makes. Warmoth also carries a good selection.

You could always go EVH style and take the pickguard off.

I would only do that if it made me sound like him. i don't see that happening. It's like putting on those !@$ $@! plus 4 golf pants. You better play like tiger to wear them.

I have this guitar in a left-handed variant.

I ordered a white pearl pickguard. It should arrive in the mail tomorrow! (I can't wait to get it installed! It'll look classy as all get out!)

Hello Earfurblues,

Green pearl would look mighty festive during the
Holiday season. :D

Seriously, I'd consider black pearl.

Cheers.

Actually, I saw an abalone variant that looked sweeter than the black pearl....

(if you were going to go with black.)

Of course, the bugger is the white pickups and knobs...If that was me, I'd have to go black with those as well...

Very true. It is important to me to go thru life without looking like a DB. 8)

In all seriousness, I like the contrast between a dark guitar and a light colored pickgaurd, but the white ones are just too bright unless it's paired with a black finish. That contrast seems to work well.

I have the "aged white" on my Strat. I looks incredible. All the benefits of a high contrast pickgaurd without the tackiness of gleeming white.

Aged white more on a tan color would go nice with red.

I have always loved the look of a Gold Pick Guard on a Red Strat.

Got some questions about types/layouts of pickguards, I want to change the pg on my cs '69 relic, it's with a truss rod notch, the deal is, there's only a very small array of pg's available(as far as i know) in the '62 layout with a truss rod notch
So the questions is, does any1 know of an international dealer with some fancy strat pickguards that fit the 69 time machine(back/silver paisley, pink paisley, moto, black pearl and such)? or is the screw placement the same on all 11-screw pick guards so I would be able to simply make a little room for the truss rod myself?
