Well I just got my '57 AVRI in two days ago and I am trying to come up with an excuse as to why I need to stay here and play it rather than go out to celebrate my wifes birthday!

i love a new guitar as much as the next guy but after i got my vm strat i tested it liked it and then went out with my girl so i'd go with "take your wife out!!!"

If you want to be able to play that guitar later, you better take out your wife now.

Don't let your attention drift while she is talking because you're too busy thinking about a tinted maple board. Nothing. Don't even think about it. It is her birthday. If you want to cut a dozen years off your marriage all you have to do is set things in motion in her mind tonight. Women keep score. Always. Forever. She will remember how you did not pay attention to her on her birthday for the rest of her life. Some women are classy enough that they never let it show that they're keeping score but the simple fact that they are women means they ARE keeping score. Call it sexist prejudice, call it whatever you like, just make sure you take it to heart and heed it. You do not want her to feel on her birthday there is anything more important in the world to you the she is. It's her birthday. Remember that.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You have that beautiful Strat in the bag, so my advice is take the wife out to dinner and that will be like money in the bank, smoothing the way for future Strat aquisitions.

Take your wife out to dinner or whatever,after all a guitar can't nag you if you ignore its birthday...but a woman can....and for a long time.

Sweet guitar though,I can see why you'd want to stay in and play it.

Beautiful guitar,I love that color and I'm going to buy one someday but I still can't make up my mind whether to go with maple or rosewood...

I would tell my wife were having a BBque for her birthday and I'd be rippin on that thing while waiting for the bbque to heat up...but I'm bad.

You are playing with matches and accelerant...We all know what happens when both are combined.....
Think of it this way...Your wife is the accelerant and that beautiful guitar is the match.
To me that is one Hell of an incendiary situation.

You can keep from getting your fingers burned by putting that guitar in its case...It won't know or at least the only complaint will be a bit out of tune....Easy enough to fix.

Concerning the wife... ..On Her Birthday.... ...
Then the only thing getting tuned in the foreseeable future will be that guitar...... :lol
