Likely I'm in the minority (as usual) but I actually think it'll look pretty good.

Oh well......

I wasn't happy when I first saw the pick guard, but now that I have it installed I like it. It is different (darker) than I originally wanted but it has this almost 3-D effect that has really grown on me. When I am playing and I look down at the guitar it is almost as if the pick guard is made of marble. It is very nice indeed. Thanks again to everyone who put up with my ramblings about this little endeavor.

One thing to consider -- the "stock" photo you posted has likely been edited and manipulated via imaging software to enhance the brightness, contrast, and color saturation.

I think your guitar looks swell, regardless.

Photoshop can work wonders. My wife can manipulate a photo of me to make me almost good looking. ALMOST!

That does appear a skosh darker than the one installed on the guitar that you posted the pic of.

Have you actually installed it on your Strat yet for a visual assessment?

Arjay:

Not yet! I did a quick dry fit just to see what it looked like. Not what I was expecting...How do you think it looks?

If you want a true white pearl pickguard, get a Warmoth guard. They fit perfect and are much whiter. There aged is the same as Fenders "white pearl"

It's a Warmoth pickguard on my candy green strat pictured above. It is very bright white.

Hey, trueblue, I agree with Arjay - I think that pick guard looks very nice, especially with the color your guitar is - I think the slightly off-white of the pickguard enhances both!

Looks good to me (especially with the maple fingerboard). That's cool that you did it for your granddaughter. I'm sure that made her day.

This is mine that I did a couple years ago. I love the Pearloid. Mine seemed a lot more off-white when I opened it, but I'm glad I put it on.

I think it looks great trueblue

I had one on my '88 MIJ for a while. I liked it ,but eventually took it back to original.

Obviously I had to modify it to fit the tremolo. I still have it, might put it back on soon.

Goodonya ...Mark.
