I picked up an 60th aniversery deluxe. After playing my '52 reissue tele with Joe Barden pick ups for several years the poor thing hangs on the wall, not played very often. I fall in love with it every time I play it. I think you have to dig a little deeper with a Strat or Tele than you do with a Les Paul but man, when you do it's just amazing the sounds that come out of those guitars!
......I need to go play now! ;-)

My Strat - named BB - allows me to become one with it, to lose myself in the music that I am playing, without the guitar ever getting in the way by being too heavy or too bulky or fragile or having a bad tone. A Strat is a very Zen or Tao instrument with it's curvature and balance between the body and the pick guard, but ultimately the Strat nears perfection in that the double cutaways, contoured design and other features allow the guitar player to play it without being aware of it. None of that would matter if the tone weren't great, and it is great. Also the tone is so much better than the "hard rock only" Gibson sound. My Strat can do from very clean, to vintage clean with reverb, to very overdriven with a humless, wickedly glassy tone that very few guitars can do (overdriving near max on a Blues Junior with the pickup at the bridge-mid), to full-on heavy dirty overdrive sound (overdriving near the max with pickup at the neck-mid). While I'm enjoying the great sound, the guitar is never getting in my way and letting me play as well as I can (sadly, not that great after all these years).

When I play my Strat it feels alive in my hands. I've had many different types of guitars, Tom Anderson, Washburn, Gibson and Ibanez all of which are great. However, my strat with her curves and supple C neck, if I caress and handle her the right way she sings to me.

I love my First Stratocaster because it houses fond memories. I like my Deluxe Players Stratocaster because it Looks Great, Play's Great, and Sounds Great, I love my Buddy Guy because it's Red with White polka Dots and has a one piece maple neck.

Stratocasters are Fenderocity Refined.

I love my Strat because it's a dream come true. I've had many guitars... too many for my 46 year old brain to recollect. I've always been in love with the white Strat with Maple fingerboard... Jimi in Woodstock changed my life. I wanted to be seasoned first. I wanted to have the knowledge for the feel of a good guitar. After 30 years of playing I decided it was time for my real guitar. Not a project guitar or another step-up guitar but the real thing. It had to be an American made Stratocaster. When I tried the American Deluxe with the SCN Pups and S-1 Switching System I was sold! It's in the picture of my signiture below.

I love my Fender American Deluxe HSS because it was my first "real" guitar that I saved for and purchased new. All my other guitars I have ever played were borrowed, used, or just plain awful. I cannot express how much this guitar seems to be made for me. I will never part with this guitar, it was my first. You always remember your first.
