This may be a dumb question...

but could i put this on a reverse headstock strat with no mods to the nut? I have been looking at getting one and have heard nothing but GREAT things about them. I dont use the trem that much but everything that I can find on them is just gleaming.

Also, if i grab one of these, is wise to go ahead and grab some graphtech saddles too?

Thanks!

The LSR nuts do have slots in them sized for the string guage so you can't just flip them over for a leftie guitar but the nut is also attached by 2 small screws so it can be removed at will if you want to relocate it to another neck. The size of the slot that gets cut into the neck is wider for LSR nuts, though. A reverse headstock neck would have to be modified to accept the LSR if it was not already factory cut for the LSR. And realistically, if it was cut for an LSR it would prolly already be equipped with an LSR. Please do not attempt to widen the nut slot yourself. If you choose to go this route please get that job done by a professional.

As I said to s2classic when we were speaking about the work he wanted done to his Strat, before you decide to fit a LSR nut be 100% sure it's what you want and will suit your needs. Consider all the other options, Graphtech graphite impregnated nut etc because once you go down the LSR route there's no going back! The slot has to be widened and deepened to accept the LSR, you can never fit an "ordinary" nut again.

And don't forget that if you want your guitar to hook up better off the line LSR can help you with that too!!!

By the way, just so you know, you can go back to a standard nut after installing the LSR but it won't be a snap. You could glue some wood back into the slot and re-cut the nut slot. I have heard of people doing this but I wouldn't recommend it. It would be very difficult to match the wood type and colour to end up with a job that didn't look obviously botched. Any pics I ever saw on the net of these projects, you could tell it had been done. It looked obvious. If you go through the archives at the TDPRI you might be able to find some pics there.

As BMW-KTM said it is possible but certainly not advisable. The wood used to fill the LSR notch is nigh on impossible to match to the original wood, it will always look "odd" and if not done right can even affect the the playability of the guitar. I had a similar situation replacing the nut on an old, early '80s, Strat copy, the original nut was thicker & deeper than anything I could find on the market now.

The easiest option is if it has a roller nut, live with it!
