Hi all, Today I finally recieved an 83 fender 2 knob strat. As I thought I love it!!!It's in almost perfect condition except for a few dings which I promise I will not be anal as I cannot find them these days.Everything about them is perfect imo.The ceramic pickups have bite the neck is terrific.Switch is a little tight and the right angle plug I bought prevents the bar from hitting the cable. However, I notice the bar input is loose and it wobbles. Is this normal? Can I tighten it somehow?I see there is a screw in the front of the bridge.ANything really at all would be much appreciated!!Other Than That God I love This guitar!!!

I recently bought and sold a 83 Dan Smith era Stratocaster with that strange tremolo..I loved the way it sounded and played ..It had a growl to it like no other strat i've ever owned..
Another thing i did not think i would like is only having the one tone knob..As it turned out this was a feature i really liked and i'm considering modding another strat that way with the other tone knob controlling a built in booster..
But i had to have Rich Worthington set the tremolo up i could not figure it out myself..Even with him doing it the tremolo could not be used pulling up ..It could only be used pushing down..
In the end i just could not bond with the guitar and placed it forsale on The Gear Page where i sold it within 5 minutes of listing...

Thanks for sharing invader!!! To bad though you didn't like it.I instantly bonded lol!! I like your idea about the mod I was thinking too of modding as long as I can find a pickgaurd without adding extra holes!! I was looking at the alexi laiho passive humbucker pickup with one knob(eq boost) and then the extra hole for connection obviously.Yes the whammy is a pain in the $@! to take off but I will not be goin crazy with the whammy anyway.I did read that the bridge can be made to float if set up properly but this innovative imo bridge is greek to me!! As for one tone control I think it's more convienent. The top loader is a marvel idea!!I just wish I couldve gone back in time and bought a couple of these.People I have talked about them have hate/love for them. FYI mine also came with case candy and the actual notes stating it was bought in 1984 for $475 at ProSound.

Now that I have been playing it all weekend I might need to seek out a new neck as now my hands are killing me.The guitar is still great but the neck is a log.The best neck I played was on my 1991 american strat.Does anybody know where i could find a replacement neck like it and or would you suspect it would fit?Thnks!
