hey guys, my fender mexican strat fell with the headstock first and the guitar facing to the ground, will that affect the action of my guitar? btw, the bridge of my guitar is a floating bridge.also, i'm paranoid about the tuning pegs, i feel that it's not aligned because of what happened..

Take it to a tech. If nothing else, you'll be reassured that nothings wrong.

Its a Fender. A Gibson would have broken in two.

I doubt anything is wrong but if you are concerned, get it checked out. No one here can tell you if anything is wrong with it or not without seeing the guitar and speculating on it is useless.

Did you look it over yourself yet? Look for and cracks around all the joints, loose screws, or any other visual changes from before you dropped it. If everything looks ok play it gently and see if anything feels different or if it sounds any different. By this i mean any new buzzing, rattling, or sounds that weren't there before. If everything looks, feels and sounds ok then it probably is. If you find something wrong take it to a tech. A good guitar can usually take a few licks and keep right on ticking.

But as mentioned before take it to a good tech if you are still worried.

If you can still tune it up, and it holds tune, and there are no visible cracks in the wood, I'd say you are good! The tuning post(s) may have gotten bent though. I dropped a mexican strat just like you....but mine fell because I failed to latch the case, and just picked the case up and took off! (DOH!) :) My guitar survived just fine.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Part of the reason I play Fenders in the first place is their near-indestructibility! Over the years, my Strats have survived all manner of horrors, and just kept going.

My 1976 335, on the other hand, slipped ever so gently off the stand, and did an almost slow motion flop onto a relatively soft surface. Crack! One headstock dangling by the strings.

Very good advise from everyone. You should also look down the neck and see if the strings are aligned with the edges of the neck on both sides, if not you just need to loosen the screws and realign the neck. Don't you just hate it when that happens? I've had it happen too.

Last time I did that, the guitar didn't even go out of tune.
Try playing it. If you don't notice anything wrong, there likely isn't. They are pretty solid.

A friend of mine had a Fender Strat fall down a freight elevator shaft from the 3rd floor to the ground floor in the case without as much as going out of tune on a single string. If you ever watched the hard time that Pete Townshend had wrecking his Strat at Monterey you'd easily see how indestructable they are.If your guitar still plays and sounds to your satisfaction,I wouldn't worry about it.If you want to take it to a tech for a second opinion,at this stage I think that you'd be wasting your money.

My Tele fell off of my bed. Only has a pin sized ding in the finish from it.

There's a picture at the new Fender Visitors Center showing a guy standing on a neck between two chairs. That should tell you how strong those necks are.

That photo was taken circa 1950 when the Esquire was introduced. It was an attempt to prove that the hard rock maple necks did not need a metal truss rod. Well, we all know how that turned out.

Relicing the old fashioned way!

I agree, Strats are pretty darn tough and can handle quite a bit of abuse. Delicate is not an adjective I would use to describe one. :D
