Just a quick quesion. Can I expect (over time) for the gloss finish to dull after lots and lots of use (which i definitely intend on)? I kind of hope so.
Also, on my les paul I use 10-52 guage strings. I know the tension will feel different if I use them on the strat but will it be very noticeable?
I tune to Eb

I use .011 - .050's on my Strat, and also tune down to a half step below concert pitch. However, I can't say how it compares to a Les Paul. Years ago I used to play 10's in standard tuning and I would say that the tension feels similar to that.

The gloss on the maple board should full over time. Because the les paul has a shorter scale than a strat, if you use the same gauge strings on both and you tune down a half step on both, string tension is bound to feel different. The difference in feel is something only you can decide. With the right setup , you can make your strat extremely playable. I have both guitars. The les paul rarely gets played.

As i was saying I use d'addario 10-52 hybrid set on my les paul. Can I expect a similar tension if i went with the hybrid 9's set? 9-46 instead of 9-42?

Since the LP is a shorter scale guitar, the heavier strings feel great on it, but once you put these on the longer scale strat, you will notice a lot stiffer string tension. As for the glossy fretboard, it shouldn't dull with use, cause the dull finishes usually shine up with wear, so the gloss will stay shiny until you wear through it and down to the wood.

10-52 on the lp
9-46 on the strat.

the carvin is 25.5 scale too but the floyd makes it feel less stiff I find
