I have some Vintage hots in my 89 USa Strat STD. Weird noises on the D string. I noticed the pole pieces on the D string "only" all all three pups is 4 to 5 times the height of "any" of the others.
Is this normal?

Its called staggered pole pieces. Perfectly normal.

OK-I get that-ButI'll take a pict tomorrow. All the other are staggered but somewhat relative in a given range. The d ploes are look like someone pushed them up until they could go no more. That's normal? The radius is perfect, I have the correct tools for the jobs. If the A string is say 5/64, The low E 5/64. The High E 4/64 or so, B string 4/64 and so on the D string is 2/64. The height of the D String at the 5th fret is "perfect" with reference to the rest of the strings and the radius of the fretboard

You shouldn't set your action to a radius gauge. It should always be set to what works and feels best.
