Well i guess the topic name says it all. Whats the main differences? I know theres are tons of models but in general. Surely there must be some differences considering the Customs can be many times more expensive

I don't own a custom and have never priced one but obviously, as soon as you step outside of the "mainstream" production units, you're goning to be talking some serious bucks.

In theory, on a custom instrument, you ought to be able to spec out anything at all... for a price!!!

everything is generally checked and of the finest quality... the workmanship is somewhat better as well... there are many great custom shop guitars, but i feel like the regular american guitars are good enough as is for the money, but a custom shop is a step up i suppose

Hello FriendlyGuitarAddict,

I've never had the oppertunity to play a custom
shop guitar, But I have seen some most excellent
colors and color combinations. On the other hand
those reliced ones don't do a thing for me, but Fender
has to pay someone to sand, scratch and dent them up
so I suppose thats part of the added cost.

Cheers.

Well I have a fender Custom shop custom classic and ite extremely nice I did plek the fretboard which makes it even better, but its my understanding the a custom shop fender is made by One Fender expert builder from start to finish..Also included is a Custom shop case ,special neckplate, and Papers including certificate of authenticity..Fender really does a knocked out job on there custom shop guitars and they do hold value,Where the real dissapointment to me is they no longer put made in USA on it anywhere,If it were me The plate would say "Made in America" or elsewhere on the guitar..What were they thinkin? doh!
