Fender necks never have raw bare open holes for the truss rod adjusters like those necks -- they always have either black plastic tubes, walnut plugs, or walnut plugs with a hole through the center. (The only exception would be models with Bullet truss rods adjusters, where the Bullet fills the hole and protrudes outward a bit.)

And the headstock finish is very rough on the 6-string neck.

I don't recall Fender ever producing double-neck Strats (except maybe as a Custom Shop model, and that workmanship isn't anywhere near CS quality).

It looks like a cool guitar and a decent partsocaster but I'm quite sure it's not a real Fender.

It is NOT an original Fender.

The 12th-fret dot spacing suggests Squier (at best).

Jimmy Vaughan plays a similar double-neck instrument but I'm not sure if his was built by the CS in Corona or another -- independent -- luthier. In any case, the instrument depicted in this thread looks like a bootleg.

The pics aren't great so it's hard to tell, but the bridges look like Squier or low-end aftermarket.

The tuners look low-end (vintage style knobs and bushings but solid posts instead of slotted).

The gold in the logo decals looks "flat' (inkjet decals can't do metallic gold properly).

Fender doesn't always select great wood or do a great job of matching body pieces, but the body wood just doesn't look Fender-ish to me.

Fender doesn't do maple-cap fretboards very often nowadays -- pretty much just Custom Shop.

There's a lot of things wrong with it, but most all of them are pretty subtle -- easily missed by someone who's new to Fenders, much less new to guitars in general.

Look carefully at the six string headstock.

Look at the nut, is that not square to the neck? Slightly angled?

That could be a bonus to the intonation, if it were angled the other way. High E closer to the bridge than the low E.

Fake. The top of the headstock has been poorly sprayed to cover the fake logo.

The Fender logo on the 6 is also too close to the nut. The bottom of the F should not line up with the point of the headstock. Anyway the lack of a truss rod insert, screams fake, as stated by others.

Those things must weigh a ton

Fender has made Double necks, but they are extremely rare...
as posted above, NIKi beat me to the nut angle detail, this is certainly not one of those lost in the closet awaiting discovery.

If the finish is so poorly done, I would expect that the electronics work is of the same quality.
I would pass unless it was for about $200.00.
At that price that guitar could be reworked into something usable. It has potential, but not as a passing off as a Fender.

Never seen the like. Almost certainly not Fender, but a hell of an instrument all the same. 8)

I'd buy it for 'improving' if the price was right and it played well.

J Vaughan's is/was a Robin guitar, not by Fender.

I disagree with that statement, the matching of grain is entirely dependent on the price range of the guitar...High End Deluxes are well matched, so are all the Custom Shops when finished in either a translucent or sunburst finish.
You cannot expect Fender to select matching grains for Squier's, Standards and the less expensive MIM's..The price would have to rise for that. It is very time consuming to match 2 body halves....
You can order a two piece matched body in a sunburst on your next guitar, But you are going to pay X-tra for that....

Hi 53 Mag,you'll have to give goodinbed some time to read why the others said fake before he gives his "expert" opinion as to why it's fake.BTW way I can remember watching a country show back in the early 60s where there was a regular appearance by a father and son and one or both sometimes played what looked to be 6/12 Fender Strats or Teles.
