Hey guys,

just got done watching a little bit of Jimmy Vaughan at the crossroads festival. I have a question. How did Jimmy get his guitar so relic'd? I know that it's a signature series, because his name is on the bak of the headstiock just like all the others, including mine. His neck is starting to age and show spots and wear and his body is showing spots of wear also. His signature guitar is poly, how does it relic like that? and can the normal production models relic also? Anyone have any input?

thanks!

I think that it's his own personal strat from years ago. He's been playing it since before Stevie died, I think.

I'm not too sure. This one has the signature right on the back as does the production model. Also, I have read that Jimmy has always used his signature strat since they came out. I know that he has other guitars that he has used, such as a white one that is not his signature strat, but this one, I am pretty certain, is his signature strat that anyone can buy.

i bet that he is playing a guitar that was built for him.
even if someone has a signature guitar, they usually use the prototypes, or a guitar that is custom made. Signature models are usually just very similar to what the artist is playing, not the exact thing.

for example, john 5 has his signature tele, and he does use them sometimes, but the guitars you see him playing most often were the prototypes for his model. they still have the standard tele headstock, instead of the six per side one.
