I have a new american standard stratocaster with the new bridge design. Although the bridge appears aligned correctly, the tremolo arm does not fit in the slot. When looking down to hole in the bridge, it appears misaligned. The treads on the trem arm never even get close to the corrisponding threads in the bridge. Does anyony know if this is any easy fix, if this is common, etc. Any help would be apprechiated. Thanks.

I also have the new American Stratocastor and experienced the same issue. The tremolo arm goes in on about a 10-15 degree angle. When the hole in the bridge aligns with the hole in the base you are looking at it from the correct angle.

I too have the new American Strat and had a problem with the tremelo bar right out of the box. The hole in the block under the bridge where the bar screws in was drilled at an angle and the hole didn`t line up with the hole in the bridge. I couldn`t screw the bar on. The store I got it from notified Fender and they had to send a replacement block which took care of it. When I wrote to Fender to complain about the problem they sent me a T-shirt with the Fender logo for the inconvience. But regardless, I don`t see why their having this problem with these new models and I keep seeing a lot of complaints about it. Hopefully their working on resolving this issue for future buyers.

I found a fix for this, if anyone else is having this problem. Loosen up the bridge screws, screw in the tremolo arm, then tighten the bridge screws. It will correctly line up the bridge/bridge plate.
