Yah. I guess. I don't see them in that price range in my neck of the wood. Last time I priced out a G&G they were over $200 and that was like 7 or 8 years ago.

Yeah, I did a search and didn't find them for under $250.00. Didn't the OP request cases in the $100-150 range?

Yes. That was exactly my point.
I'd say SKB are the prolly best value in the $150-and-under price range.
I mean if we're going to forget the price point we might as well advise the OP get a Calton case cuz they beat the snot out of G&G cases.

Have you kept up with the fiasco that is Calton Case now? Guys have paid the $1000 for a case over a year ago and nothing. Also the shop looks like this now

I'd go for SKB-66 cases> The Fender equivalent costs more for more or less, the same product.

I have recently aquired a Gator Deluxe Case for my Tele and I must say I am impressed- however the case is more heavy and is larger than it really needs to be.

G&G cases here are soo over-priced its not viable to spend $350-$400 on a case. Anyone down my ways would have to be a lunatic to invest that amount of money without bringing one from Stratosphere through E-bay

Fenders seem to fit best in Fender cases. G&G and older Fender chain saw are my favorites. I paid $100 for a nice used molded chain saw case that had a nice Squire inside. Figured the Squire was a freebe, so check the used market. The square, stackable, molded Fender cases you see new for $99 on the web are excellent cases too.

These are great:

But if you're like me and you end up having to carry your guitar, amp and pedalboard all at once it's a little more convenient to carry the guitar on your back. In which case (no pun intended), Reunion Blues makes the sturdiest gig bag I've ever seen. It's what I'm currently using after wearing several holes in my old Road Runner gig bag.

By the way, I ended up paying less than $150 for mine. I shopped around and found it cheap online and showed it to the guys at Guitar Center. They matched it and still honored the coupon I brought.

It is so bad the guy in England who owns the name is now suing the guy who licensed the name in Canada. Some guys are out three or four grand since it has been over a year and the CC companies won't do a charge back.

I wouldn't pay $200 dollars for a case unless I travelled overseas on a regular basis with it. SKB make a nice molded case but they don't have a compartment with a lid to store your little odd and ends which I like. Charvel SKB cases do have a compartment and they're basically the same construction as the Fender SKB case with the exception that they have the Charvel Logo on the outside of the case. I don't think a plywood/tweed style case would fair well around ornery children or baggage handlers.

I would never fly with a normal tweed case. If I did fly, even domestically, I wouldn;t hesitate on a $200+ flight case like a Gator or Anvil. The newer molded Fender SKB cases like to warp. If you can find the older guitar shaped SKB Fender case they are a better made case.

Thanks for the heads up Krab.. This is one I like for air travel but to be honest I've travelled the Atlantic quite often and have used an SKB style cases with no problems. The warping issue would be something to keep in mind though. I'm guessing if it was stored flat the chances of it warping would be reduced.
