What is the best case out there right now that you can purchases for $100-$150? I have a molded case for my old strat and I cant seem to find anymore around. I paid $120-$130 for it and its great.

Any input??

Personally, I like the Fender Tweed ones made by G&G

I have been using a Road Runner molded case (model # RRME320) from GC since Sept 2010 for weekly trips to my instructor (still learnin') and weekend get aways. Not any heavy duty exposure or being run over by equipment or roadies or vehicles. Anyway, the first one lasted 3 months until the screw under the handle, holding external case to the inside structure started, pulling away. With the 1 year (I think) warranty GC replaced it and the second one is working just fine. It cost $90, but now it looks like GC wants $100, I really like the looks of the tweed cases but always thought the wood ones would be much heavier and have not seen the molded ones.

SKB FS-6 molded case are what all my strats sleep in. I prefer them over the rectangular cases.

Every Fender instrument I've ever owned, going all the way back to 1968, has been stored/transported/protected in a G&G case. IMO they are the best.

I use both the Fender molded case as well as the G+G Tweed and black Tolex.

(1) For hiding under the tonneau cover in the car, the molded case works best. Downside is that there is no space for strap and cord. So only if I'm taking one guitar and will be parked somewhere not so safe. ( which is really just about anywhere in a city. )

(2) G+G Rectangular cases win out 90% of the time due to their storage capacity. Strings, Picks, Straps, Cords...But they have to either go on edge and crosswise to fit hidden, or in the back seat. When bringing more than 2 guitars.
Not thrilled with a tweed case laying out on my back seat.

I have a tweed G&G and all the rest are in moulded cases. The G&G has tons of extra storage, is rugged, and looks great, but it is clumsy. I prefer the moulded cases, I can carry all my extra goodies in a gear bag.

Yah. I guess. I don't see them in that price range in my neck of the wood. Last time I priced out a G&G they were over $200 and that was like 7 or 8 years ago.

G&G makes great cases - after thousands of road miles, they still
offer superb protection for your guitars.

G&G it is. Never had the slightest problem with any of them even going back to the CBS years!

G&G. Decades later it is still a fine case. Cost? An investment to protect an investment.
